Popcorn

It's yellow. It's yummy, and it POPS! Maybe that's why kids like it so much. Using popcorn for a prop really happened almost by accident as the little containers I found were what gave me the idea. I  am a frequent raider of the dollar bins as Target. I was doing my regular shopping routine one day and these cool little containers jumped out at me! The second I saw them I knew I had to have them! They were old school looking. I knew using them and incorporating popcorn into a shoot with kids would make for a lot of fun, and a lot of giggles. Food always does! While we were shooting, some Canadian Geese were also very happy to gorge themselves on all the popcorn we were spilling every where. To bad they were not polite about it! Regardless we still had a great time!

I am still learning the ins and outs with my new camera. I tweaked things a little before this shoot in hopes of achieving some better Bokeh. So far I'm liking the results and my new camera, but I'll let all of you be the judge. If your curious about my settings, pop me an email!

I so enjoyed my time with you all M family! It was so good to finally meet you! :)

I Heart Faces: Props

Entering the I Heart Faces photo challenge for me this week was a no brainier. I love props and the effect they can have on an image. That's why I use them all the time. It's a way to bring a little extra element of fun, as well as adding interest.

I very recently did a family session that revolved around popcorn. The popcorn theme has been one of my favorites to date, and it made the kids happy! That's what its all about!

Baby Love

I love maternity sessions. I love the excitement and the anticipation that comes with bringing a new little baby into this world. There is nothing else like it! Another thing I love.....the sonogram pictures. Some people think they are no big deal. Not me. They are images of a tiny little precious creation, given by God, and there is no greater gift than that and the gift of life. I will always find ways to incorporate these little pictures into my sessions, so hopefully they don't start to bore you. I guess I will just have to make my creative gene work a little harder when it comes to using them! :)

Congratulations to this beautiful happy couple. I can't wait to meet your sweet little baby. :)

Trashed......

It's a first. My first ever trash the dress session. When Becky first told me she wanted to trash her wedding dress and have me take the pictures, I will admit I was NERVOUS. Why? I had never done this kind of photography before. I knew I wanted it to be dramatic, and so did Becky. So, after much thought and brainstorming on both of our ends, we came up with a theme. Dramatic couture. Becky did her own hair, and make-up for the shoot, and I must say she did a fabulous job! Ladies if your thinking about booking a session check out the details of the paparazzi package on my website! Becky will make you gorgeous!

Our first stop was a very special Pepsi truck, and then it was time to shot up a location I have been dying to get too! Once you see that old bridge and it's tracks there is really no need to explain why. The locations were amazing, the details fabulous, and the bride of the hour rocked it!

And...... so you all know, just because it's called a TRASH the dress session, it doesn't me you have to literally trash your dress. With a little dry cleaning Becky's dress will return to its white perfection. :)

Among the roses and my chair...........

There is something to be said about a garden that is overflowing with roses. Spectacular maybe? During it's peak this garden is a giant sea of blossoms that will make you gasp the first time you see it. I love the roses and I wished they bloomed longer. They have never let me down when it has come to providing a gorgeous backdrop for pictures. With that said though, I always like to incorporate a little something extra into my pictures than just what a location has to offer. Enter my red chair. It's been a while since I last used it, and I thought now was the perfect time to bring it out. Unfortunately, the weather report had been a little dishonest and a pop up rain shower made things tricky.  In-spite of the crazy rain we didn't quit. After it let up and we were done in the garden we set up the chair and got down to business mustaches and all!

A little mustache goes a long way for making fun wouldn't you agree :)

And just for fun.............
