Romantic Air

You've all heard the saying, "Romance is in the air," and this past weekend for my husband and I it was abundantly so. For Valentine's day this year we had a romantic date set for the weekend, that we had been planning for months. You can imagine that when we had to cancel everything do to another round of SICK we were both extremely disappointed! Over the course of January and February it was starting to feel as if Life would just not let us catch a break! We had family member's with major surgeries in the hospital, extremely long hours at work, sick upon sick upon sick, and then the usual unwanted mishaps that always seem to rear their ugly heads when your at your wits end! During all of this we were watching the devastation of the Haiti Earthquake unfold before our eyes. I was looking through pictures of the disaster and saw a man crying out in anguish while carrying his child away from a pile of ruble. I was shaken to my very core, and felt an overwhelming amount guilt for thinking MY bad days of late actually meant something! I was reminded that no matter how bad things may seem, we ALWAYS have SO MUCH to be grateful for. So for the next couple weeks I sang "What faith can do," by Kutless, in my head as a reminder for me, and after time LIFE went back to normal for us.

After a couple attempts we were finally able to get our date rescheduled, and it was so worth our wait. Our first stop on Saturday morning was to drop our little peanut off with the Grandparents. Next we stopped at Crackerbarrel for breakfast and then headed to Rejuvenations Day Spa for an aromatherapy couples massage. Can I just say AHHHH. After that we got dressed up and headed to our favorite downtown spot, Armory Square. I love this part of downtown for it's fresh vibe, it's coffee spots, chocolate shop, restaurants, photogenic details, designer clothing shops where I "browse" not buy, and everything thing else that makes it a great place be when the sun is shining. Love it, love it! We walked around for little bit until I couldn't take the cold anymore, and then stopped for latte's at my favorite place, Starbucks! After a warm up it was off to Pascale's for dinner, where the food was so delicious that we can't wait to go back! We ended our night with dancing by candle light as Frank Sinatra's Moon River, one of my most favorite songs of all time, echoed through our empty house. It was an amazing, refreshing, wonderful day, and I LOVE MY HUSBAND!

Family Time

Perhaps one of the most precious gifts we can be given in this Lifetime is the gift of family and children. About a week ago, I had a photo shoot with a gorgeous family that just made my day. As you know March weather in upstate NY is almost NEVER that nice, so we did not plan on venturing outdoors! All the photo's were done inside their super cute house which was nothing short of photogenic. I just about died at the cuteness and color in the kids rooms, but it didn't end there. Lisa has quite the knack for decorating and their home had a window seat that was just divine! There were plenty of spots for pictures but we focused on family time in the heart of their home. The timing for all of this is a little bittersweet, as they will be shaking the NY snow off their heals for good and heading south to warmer climate's! I can honestly say I am happy for them but a little envious considering the fact that I have been an aspiring southerner for some time now! I so enjoyed my time with this loving, picturesque family! My Scruff Monster and Newest Addition.

If your asking yourself the question, the answer is no WE did not have another baby. I on the other hand have added a new baby so to speak to my photography collection. Thanks to the advice of the amazing Jasmine Star, I finally took the plunge and picked out a new lens! My wonderful husband bought it for me just this last week and I have been the sugar addict kid in the candy store since it arrived. So what's the latest addition to my bag you ask? The Canon 50mm 1.4.  and I am so in looooove with it! This lens has by far met with all my expectations! At first I was a little apprehensive about switching to a prime lens, but now I am so glad I did! As you can imagine, Pixie did not share in my excitment when she was made to be my guinea pig this time instead of Noah. You know I had to test it out as soon as I got it! I don't think she appreciated seeing stars, and having me in her face when she was trying to nap. If your wondering by now who Pixie is, she is our scruffy little terrier mutt and Noah's BFF. To sum her up? She is your crazy, hipper, tipical terrrier with a little to much spunk and the big bad pussy cat complex. She is also a sweetie, a kisser, a lover, and bigtime cuddler, someone we couldn't imagine life without, and we love to love on her! She is a one of a kind and a big time cutie so leave her some love!

A visit from Auntie Sarah.

Saturday afternoon Noah got a visit from his Aunt. My sister had come over because we were supposed to do some pictures at this old train bridge I have been dying to get into my portfolio. This was my second attempt to get there, the day was PERFECT, but alas........... no bridge, it didn't happen, AGAIN! Things were crazy as usual so we spent a little time playing around my house trying to think were we should go for dinner. Noah got a little play time with his aunt, although most of her attention went to our rambunctious mutt. I snapped a few shots around my house in between flying Legos, balls, and dog toys. You see, Noah just figured out how to throw, so sedentary objects can now FLY. Thankfully my camera is still in one piece and I have a few pictures of my little sis to show. After Dada arrived home we traveled out in the gorgeous March weather for the World's best hamburgers! Nobody does them like Red Robin!
