Lace

I don't think the fact that I am obsessed with anything vintage is much of a secret. When I saw this little girls doll house, I knew we had to use it for her two year pictures and I knew the perfect place to do them. The combination of lace, roses, pearls, and a ginormous Victorian doll house, spelled vintage to a T! We created quite the spectacle carrying that giant house through the rose bushes, I think most of the people there had never seen such a thing! Her mama did a fabulous job making the gorgeous head pieces, and I can't say enough about how much I love these little lace outfits!

The evening sun loaned us it's gorgeous hazy light and painted the garden to perfection! This sweet little angel faced girl looked like a doll romping through the roses in her vintage attire and lace!

Heirloom

I always love it when clients bring something unique and special to their sessions. When this little girls Mom told me about some authentic, Japanese kimono's she had for her daughter to wear I was very excited! The kimono's were given to this little sweetie on her first birthday by her Grandfather who had worn them when he was a baby. How neat and special is that! I had been wanting to grab some colorful paper umbrellas that I had seen at Hobby Lobby, and once I saw a picture of the kimono's I knew they would be a perfect fit for this session!

Thorndon park ended up having a little nook at the top of a hill that was just too perfect for these pics! I don't believe I could have found a better spot! And..... as always the rose garden at the bottom of the hill wasn't to shabby either! :)

Hot Rod Red

I am on a red kick. If I can somehow incorporate red into a photo I'll do it! First, you saw the wagon. Love my little red wagon. It had first belonged to my Dad when he was a little kid, then it was mine, and now that it has aged its perfect for pictures! When this little boys shoot was coming up I knew I wanted something red again. Turns out my little boy had a little hot rod red bike that was just perfect! He was kind enough to let me borrow it and it made for a great prop!

Check out this handsome little man styling up the Square!

I Heart Faces: A Touch of Whimsy

When I saw the I Heart Faces photo challenge theme for this week, I started bouncing in my chair. Excited doesn't come close to covering it! It's not even about my entry either! I can not wait to browse all the submissions from other photographers this week! I LOVE WHIMSY!

Now for my image. A soft touch of sun and one ginormous doll house. My version of whimsy. :)
