Testing!

Ok, so there has been something bugging me for a long time! I have been so frustrated with my blog and facebook for crunching and distorting my images every time I upload! So I am sure you could imagine when I saw a tutorial on I Heart Faces about how to prepare your photo's for the web, I was ecstatic! So here is my little test. I had no idea you could correct this issue! They never look as good on the web as in person but at least the quality is much better than before!

I Heart Faces you made my day!

Colt Cuteness

A couple of weeks ago I got together with one of my photographer friends for a playdate and some pictures. It didn't go quite as well as we had hoped! My crazy dog kept getting in the way, and the boys preferred to be playing! My friend Alethea loves photography and has hopes to eventually maybe start her own business. I always really enjoy spending time with people that like taking pictures as much as I do! It's great to be able to share techniques and swap ideas! Her little guy was super silly and fun, which made for some really cute faces!

With this set of pics I did some experimenting with some new photoshop actions. I stumbled across Annie from Paint the Moon photography on I Heart Faces. She makes some of the most amazing Photoshop textures and actions! She has a free set of actions available for people to download to you can get used to using the presets before you buy them. I haven't purchased any from her yet but I plan to. So far I love the freebies, so if you like to photoshop go check out Annie's site at Paint the Moon. I included a couple of them bellow, I HEART her work and cute little blonde boys!

The airbrush experiment.

Over the course of the past year I have been trying to devote more of my time for growth both in photography and Photoshop. Photoshop for me has been extremely challenging. Not only is it a complex program, but finding the time to drill the steps into my head in how to master things is usually trumped by mommyhood. I know every mom out there knows exactly what I am talking about! So, I was able to spare a few minutes to learn an airbrushing technique which is something I have been wanting to learn how to do for a long time! So as you can imagine this is exciting for me! It will take some tweaking on my part as I get better at doing it but I wanted to share my first attempt with you! So don't forget to let me know what you think. I am excited about applying this to future pictures!

Meet Lucas, a little boy I had the pleasure of working with right before Christmas!
First the before, and then after airbrushing.
